I think he is underrated but has little to no chance at MVP in the league today due to all the higher profile players. I don't think it is fair but they would give it to Kobe, Lebron or Paul before they would give it to him even if his stats were better and he averages 30 points all year. Just my opinion though. He is a very good player!!!!

Definitely agreed Dave. Its probably that the NBA knows that these players like Kobe, Lebron, and CP3 have done amazing in the past, and since everyone talks about them, they just ignore everyone else's stats

He is good - ok, great, but I doubt he'll have any consideration for MVP. But, the season isn't even a week old, so bring this back up in January, and we'll see what everyone's opinions are then! See where the Hawks are in the east, see what he's averaging, etc

we will see after a month.
However, He is playing really well and Hawks are doing really well after 2 games.
Some ESPN analysts (4 out of 16 total) picked hawks to win the division over Orlando while other 12 picked Orlando.
Im not sure if Hawks can win the division but just like the playoffs last year, they can be really good if they want to be.
Their starting 5 is very good but I agree that if one of them goes down with an injury whole team would melt down.
Joe Johnson is a very good player but I dont think he has a shot as Hawks will never be top 1 or 2 seeds.
But then again, Kobe, Lebron and CP3 are all ahead of him this yr.
Even Yao will be considered before Joe Johnson.

I was jk bout that. I was exaggerating a little obviously, but I could place a wager that he will have 24 ppg + halfway through - at the all star break

It is too early in the season and he has some serious competition this year

I know it is early everyone. But I was saying how he was really good last year and nobody noticed so maybe this year people might start to notice him hopefully

agree'd, lets not jump the gun, a MVP candidate is based on a consitant game play by the player, and of course vote's, but its way to early to even consider him in that catagory basing it on his previous years of playing and consitantcy so give it some time a few good games will not do it.

he is VERY underrated, we can all say that. but i dont think he's MVP material QUITE yet. there are other players in the league that deserve it more than him imo. top 3 would be lebron, cp3, and KG. but lets wait until February like other people said until we can figure it out. thanx
