The Jetsons a reality within two years?

Flying car based on Ferrari 'could be reality within two years'

Very interesting concept. Just think about walking out to your garage, backing your car out, then hitting the vertical thrusters button and taking off for work...or landing at a helipad in town and then driving off to dinner. Very James Bond-ish.

I'm sure they'll have one hovering in two years, but it'll be decades before they're released to the public--the public who obtains the proper licensing and adheres to airway regulations. I can't imagine hundreds--thousands--of people in once city flying around in an organized fashion. It'll never happen. I know some people are going to pull the moon-landing argument, but no one ever (or still) expected/expects many people to fly around at once. Hate to burst bubbles, I'm just in a negative mood today.

I have a subscription to Popular Science (and by subscription I mean the guy who used to be in my APT had a subscription and it still comes every month) Anyway a few months ago there was an article about a team that is creating a driving plane. A small little plane that when necessary the wings can fold up and you can drive it around on roads and such. It’s suppose to be finished sometime this spring and they have sold ten or so already.

It has been over a year and it still comes, it has become my favorite magazine. When I move or they stop coming, I plan on getting a new subscription, it's such an amazing magazine.

I've been thinking about getting a subscription to some sort of magazine. It just feels like the right thing to do... ever move into a place that has cable? You usually only get it for a month or so, but it's the greatest thing!
