Is the Staples Center that bad for autographs??? It sounds like the security takes their jobs way to seriously there...

Yeah, Staples Center security is tough! You have to stay in your section before, during, and after the game. And don't even think about approaching any celebs in your section. (We were seating near Andy Garcia, 50 Cent, B Real, George Lopez, Mario Lopez.) I do gotta give it up for one of the security guards. They wanted to empty the place out after the D game, but I convinced him to let me stay for a few minutes.

I think Elgin Baylor was at Sears in Cerritos that weekend. I heard about it on am 710 radio. Still waiting for KB to show up at the UD store for $1000 a pop.

Even if you have a ticket next to the celebrities, you can't ask for autographs??? It sounds like that place is completely ridiculous. How are the basketball hotels over in LA???

If security sees you "bugging" celebs, they'll ask you to return to your seat. I've seen it first hand. Was thinking about doing some road trips next year to try other teams.
Not sure about hotels; haven't tried yet myself. I've heard it is tough, though.

    4/5/09 Utah Flash @ LA D-Fenders

Got some free tickets to a D-League game yesterday.

@ Flash before & after the game
JR Giddens (on assignment from Celtics) 2/2 + pic w/my wife; I offered to give him a card. "No, I got those. I'll sign them both for you." Really nice guy.
Morris Almond (on assignment from Jazz) 1/1; Was willing to sign anything. "Is that all you got?" And wanted to look at my cards. "Is that an old school Ronald Dupree?" Again, a really nice guy. (I also just got a Morris Almond AUTO from 08-09 UD SPX!)
Kosta Koufas (on assignment from Jazz) 1/1
    Ronald Dupree (ex-Pistons) 1/1
James Lang (ex-Wizards) 0/1; was busy getting someone else

@ D-Fenders post game autograph session
Today must have been a special day because a lot of school kids were in the house. So they sent out all 10 D-Fenders players for post game autographs. That was a nice surprise.
So all of these are 2/2 + pic w/my wife.
    Mickael Gelabale (ex-Sonics)
    Earl Barron (ex-Heat)
    Brandon Heath (ex-Lakers camp)
    Dwayne Mitchell (ex-Lakers camp)
    The rest of the roster:
Darren Cooper, Duan Erwin, Ryan Forehan-Kelly, Gabriel Hughes, Lawrence McKenzie, Charlie Parker

They had just cut Othella Harrington (ex-Rockets) the day before, or I could have gotten him!

    Will post pics later.

Scans. One of the players (and someone in line) really liked my NBDL custom. I have more of them signed, but just scanned in one to show you.
