SCF Superstar League -Stats/Scoring Points (Help)
Bit confused with Yahoo's points/scoring system.
Some teams are getting more points in categories where they really weren't that nights leader.
For example :
Team 1 gets +2 in PTS columns for 100 actual SLU points scored.
Team 2 gets +0 in PTS column for 103 actual SLU points scored.
Can anyone explain this to me and the other participants?
Thanks!!!

It has nothing to do with nightly stats....they are all cumulative for the entire season, as to how many points you get for each category.

Within 'StatTracker' under the leagues stats tab there are 2 views...
Today and Season.
I'm looking at the Today view.
These are the points awarded for tonight performance correct?

Nope. Rotisserie points aren't awarded on a daily basis. All points are based off of either averages (FG%) or totals (points scored) over an entire season.

If points aren't awarded daily then how did i go plus 8.5 last night and minus 4.5 tonight?

Like I said, it's all based off of averages. So, for example, say you had a FG% of .402, and that was good for 10th best (8 points), and all of your guys shot LIGHTS OUT last night, and raised your average up to .413, and that bumped you up to 5th best, that means those 8 points you had for that category would have went up to 13, resulting in an increase of 5 points overall for your team.
So it'll fluctuate every day/night. Some times you'll be real close to other people, which will result in a big jump/decrease in points for one day, and other times you won't be real close to any other teams, stats-wise, and your point total will stay the same.

I still can't grasp it.
Why did say DIII slu get +2 in PTS when...
2, 3, 4 other slu's scored more (actual/game) and got a 0 ?
I was just going by this :Last edited by MatthewLee; 04-21-2009 at 02:31 AM.

So, in essence, it would be better to get a bench player who averages 4 points a game and have him go off for 8? But, if I have Dwight Howard starting, and he's averaging 23, and he scores 18, I lose points? I really don't get it either - I had DH12 starting when he had the triple double and I gained 0....

Guys, you are making this too complicated.
If your guy averages 23 a night and scores 18, you won't "lose points", unless the team directly under you had a guy go off for 40, and that allowed him to pass you in TOTAL POINTS so far on the entire season.
Also, Matt....daily stats mean NOTHING in a rotisserie league. They are 100% irrelevant. Don't even bother looking at them, b/c they don't matter. They would only matter in a H2H league, or a points league.
This is as simple as it can be explained....
IT'S ALL BASED OFF OF AVERAGES/TOTALS.
So at the end of the year, whatever team has the best FG% will have those 18 points. Whatever team has the most assists will get those 18 points. Whatever team has the most points scored will get those 18 points, etc. etc. etc.
They just fluctuate on a daily basis depending on where your team stands ON THAT DAY.
If you click on Full Standings, you'll see where you match up with other teams, and what categories you are close to moving up/going down, and where you are ranked currently.Last edited by nadeau01_johnson48; 11-15-2008 at 02:38 PM.

Ok, that explains it a little better for me...thanks Jeremy...I've never played fantasy anything before, so it's all new to me, and slightly confusing!
So if it is only based on the season stats, why does it fluctuate?
