Believe it or not, this isn't the first time Ive heard about this. I think about a year ago, a man in the UK did the same thing and the people in the chatroom were also egging him on.

and the people in the chatroom were also egging him on.
How can someone live with themselves if they egged someone into killing themselves? This is sad in itself, but if someone was taunting him into doing it, that is just cruel. That's complete BS and frankly, it pisses me off...

I was on another forum today where one person was going to great lengths justifying why he thought it was exceptionally "funny."
That a couple of other people agreed with him made it all the more despicable.

I personally think people have two personalities. One they show in public and another they have when in private. This is why you see politicians in sex scandals and people egging people on to kill themselves. Some of them may be school teachers, parents and other respectable people in public. At home and on the internet they may be someone totally different. Reminds me of the movie Hostel where these nice businessmen pay to torture other humans.

Same thoughts in here. The website is not responsible for this guys death. Also, as soon as they found out they called the cops .

I agree that blaming the website it ridiculous. I can only imagine how many prank complaints that they. I don't think the hosting company has any blame at all. If the internet wasn't around, the guy more than likely would have still killed himself.
The fact that people watched doesn't surprise me. There's something about dark things that make people want to look. Same thing as car accidents. Most people know they shouldn't look but do anyway. There's just a built in fascination with things that are not normal everyday events.
I'd guess most people that were egging him on probably thought he was just goofing off and the people that didn't, well everyday things happen to prove there are just people out there that just don't care about anyone else.
You also have the fact that things that happen online or a screen (monitor, TV, or movie screen) doesn't seem all that real to a lot of people.
Either way, I hope the host company doesn't have to waste any efforts on defending themselves against the family.
And for the guy asking why they write a story about this? Do you ever watch the news? A lot of it is usually death, murder, crime, natural disasters, and so on. It's nothing new.

Being as my sister made the same choice with her life in April, I find this very hurtful to even read. I heard this story earlier and wasn't even sure if it was true. I have nothing else to add except that I am very sad for the family. To have to go through this in private is one of the most excruciating things ever, I couldn't imagine having to go through this in the public eye.

I am sorry to hear this. My feelings are similar. My brother committed suicide in 1997, so I know what families go through in times like this. The accusations and assumptions some people make are horrific.

I agree with mikey-poo.
And Hostel is some good stuff! Hostel 2 as well.
Not sure which one it is, but the soccer scene with the little kids is hilarious!
