Make sure the other trader understands your shipping dilemma before posting the trade to confirm they are aware and then it can't be held against you... I assume you are able to send out within a week of the trade posting, right?

Yes, I have 1 day off in the week that I can always ship if I am not able to do it before that day.

Yeah...then it should not be held against you. If you feel it has been, then feel free to report the trader rating and it can be researched...
I would suggest having your shipping reminder added to the trade so that it's proof it is agreed to when the trade is confirmed...

I like these features as you can better gauge each individual on a number of things.....the only thing that everyone will need to remember is that you need to look at the postmark date. If it is postmarked within a few days of the agreed trade that should get the highest rating.....
Just don't ding the sender for the PO taking it's sweet ole time

I persoanlly am not a big fan of it. A lot of it is the same thing. Packaging and shipping are somewhat similar since packaging is a part of the shipping. Plus I think it opens up the door for a lot more trouble. I don't know. I guess I just got to get used to it. I've never been that big of a fan of change.
It's growing on me though.

I have to agree with you Matt; I'm just not a big fan of it either. Like the person said above, they did all the right shipping, but only received a 4. I think it's too much work for the members, which will in turn, turn into too much work for the moderators.
I definately like the "shipping date" aspect though. At least lets the people know when the item was shipped. I just hope you can only put today's date when you ship it (I'm sending out mail tomorrow and I wasn't able to punch it in as you can't do ahead of time.... I'm assuming you can't go back a day either).
Lastly, the "yesterday" thing is still coming up for me, even though I shipped today. As far as I know, I'm on my time zone, Pacific/Vancouver.

I dont really like the numbers thing bc its really subjective. Some ppl might give you a "4" thinking its a great rating, but if you did a good job that should warrant a 5. As long as im happy with a trade, i'll give everyone 5's across but ppl judge it differently.
In my opinion, a 3 point system would be better for each category. Bad, decent/could use improvement, and good.

If your situation takes 2 weeks to get a card to another member, then other members should know that. If you have a situation where you can only get to the post office once a week just let the other member know that. We have great members that are understanding, but we want to differentiate members. Some members always get the card out the next day and are suburb packers and communicators. Others are not. IS this subjective? Yes, but over time a true rating on a member will show up. These extra ratings do not effect your MSF status and are just informational. Not everyone will like it, but I feel most will.

I'm sorry but I don't like this feature at all. People are notoriously picky when it comes to giving out number ratings, I see it so often in many different aspects.
For some reason a lot of people just do not like to give out perfects or feels just because it's 1-5 scale they need to nitpick every little thing. So for instance someone will give a 4 just for the sole reason they don't want to give a perfect.
A numbered rating is far too subjective.
I think this is going to cause more problems/arguements then good. Personally as long as I get the card arrives fine in a bubble mailer and top loader I'll be giving perfect 5's.
Obviously I'll deal with it since it's a privilege to trade on SCF but I just wanted to throw my two cents in.
