It all depends on the team, Kidd Needs high flying wing men and Payton needs scorers that play defense. Really it's a coin toss, bothare great but since the Nets are my TEAM, I have to say Kidd.

Who the hell posted that there the same age? Payton was a rookie in 1989-90. Kidd was a rookie in 1994-95. Thats a 5 year span, The game changed so nuch in that time, You cant compare them! Just like compareing Jordan and Kobe. The hell with Kobe,
Jordan did all that at Kobe's age, Why compare them Now?
It's a 16 year age difference.
I'd take both and put them around People that could play the game. Not Players that need someone to make them better!

I'd take Payton over Kidd
Payton --- scorer, passer, and one hell of a defense
Kidd -- average scorer, great passer, average defense

Kidd slightly edges out Payton in this one. Kidd isn't a high scorer, but he has a dangerous jump shot and passes the ball unlike anyone in the league right now. Payton is the higher scorer, but the Glove doesn't make his teammates better like JKidd does.
