    Charles Barkley arrested for DUI

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP)—Charles Barkley was arrested on suspicion of drinking and driving early Wednesday.

An officer with a law enforcement task force that targets drunken driving saw the former NBA star run a stop sign around 1:30 a.m., said Gilbert police Lt. Eric Shuhandler.

Barkley declined to submit to a breath test but was given a blood test. The results weren’t immediately available.

Not sure why they made a news story out of it if nothing was out of the ordinary - I mean, they don't make a big deal out of it if John Doe gets arrested for DUI...

Anyway, glad to hear he wasn't injured or anything!

Yeah, I know...it's just kinda funny - the article even states that nothing out of the ordinary happened, and that everything that would've been done to John Doe was done to Barkley...lol

People love to hate Chuck. It was a stupid decision to get behind the wheel drunk. I think it's a story because (1) he's a celebrity and (2) this isn't his first bout with alcohol. He admitted to having a problem when he played for Houston. There was talk about him going into rehab although I can't remember if he did or not. We'll see what he has to say. He'll probably make a statement either in person or through his atty.

Either way, I really hope he gets help before he gets behind the wheel and kills somebody. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a drink as much as anybody. How hard is it to make travel arrangements before you go out? It's not like he didn't have cab fare. Stupid. (sorry, I'm off my soapbox now)
