Well I was just thinking to myself, with the new supercollector forum thing opening up, what does it take to be considered a supercollector? quality, quantity, both? certain percentage? can someone give me a little more info
Money. Lots of money.

I think the standards should also vary on each player.
For example, I'm a Kobe collector, but I don't consider myself a supercollector. Since Kobe has so many High End cards, I don't expect anyone to collect all of his cards, so I go based on quality over quantity. Here are my standards for a Kobe supercollector:
Rookies: Have every single one, including parallels like the rubies, legacy, credential, and refractor cards (Most Important)
Autos: At least 5, with one being a auto patch (Important)
Gus: You have to have all gu from 98-99 jersey set and 99-00 jersey set, and at least have 1 of the 2 super patch cards form the 99-00 set, and or the auto/jersey card of the 99-00 set, any other gu is bonus but not very important (Important)
Rare Inserts: You should have at least 3 of the rare 90s inserts, for example, 97-98 Credentials Now, 97-98 Fleer Metal Gem Green/Red, and maybe a 97-98 Jambalya (There are other rare 90s inserts) (Important)
Everything else is all bonus, I don't care how many cards you have, if you don't have the majority cards I mentioned, I don't consider you a Kobe supercollector.

I think "super collector" should be used very rarely and only to the best collectors out there. If being one is so easy, and everyone becomes one, then what is the significance of it?
