Tracy McGrady out 2 weeks
HOUSTON -- Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady will miss the next two weeks to rest his sore left knee.
McGrady has missed 11 games, including the second game in Houston's past four back-to-back sets. The seven-time All-Star had minor surgery on his knee in May and has struggled to regain strength in his left leg.
General manager Daryl Morey and coach Rick Adelman decided to keep McGrady out until he can fully recover.

I highly doubt he will ever have an injury-free season....he could've been so great...probably among the best of all time...but he is just so injury prone. Really too bad.

McGrady has had a throwaway year - 38.8 FG% and just 15.4 PPG. Last season he managed 41.9% and 21.6 PPG, but those numbers are a far cry from his best years in Orlando (45 FG% and 25+ PPG).
He also tends to play when injured, further hampering his career. In only one season has he actually played less than 64 games (not counting the lockout year), but his injury problems seem worse than everyone else's because he has all this day-to-day stuff like knee problems, arthritic shoulders, back trouble, etc. It'll be good for him to sit out awhile for a change and rest his body.

You gotta be kidding! I know you're not, but man, it seems like he's missed more games than that most years!

At least he's ahead of Chris Paul where it counts - all star voting.
Isn't that bizarre? He's having a well-below normal year, and he STILL is ahead of CP3, the best PG in the league.

Part of that is because of Ming and the Chinese voters - they tend to vote for his teammates more than normal too.
Why isn't the ASG done by position? SG, PG, SF, PF, C?

Yeah, and that's also why Yi Jianlian is in third among all forwards in the east

I have no idea - really bizarre to me, because there wouldn't be a starting PG for the west right now...I think it would be more fair to the players who deserve the spot if it was done by position.

I'll admit that I was surprised myself. I have been a fan of the guy for years, but I thought he had more seasons like that. By comparison, Shaq has six seasons where he's played in less than 64 games.
The All-Star thing is definitely influenced by the Chinese voters. I've been picking Paul and Bryant each time I vote. Sure, T-Mac is one of my favorites, but I base my votes on who is performing best at a given time.
