Illiterate SCF'ers Rant
My roommate (who is also a SCF member) and I often talk about how much we can't stand the number of seemingly illiterate members there are on this board.
Does this happen to anyone else? Because it happens to us all the time:
I'll take the time to nicely list out cards I have for trade. Then be VERY SPECIFIC about what I want in return. I'll list out the teams I'll trade for, what value I'm looking for, how many cards I want in return. And since I'm being so specific I even say I'm not checking lists and request people to offer up cards that fit my criteria.
Of course the first response is always a quick lazy "cmb".
I'm thinking that clearly this user has so many cards I'd want that he can't list them all, so I go and check the bucket. Of course there isn't one card of my teams.
Anyone else notice how the average SCF'er simply doesn't bother to read what other people type anymore? It's staggering.

What's worse than that are the people who can't tell the difference between refractors and regular chrome cards. They're always like "I HAVE TEH REFACTOR" and then send you the friggin' base card. And when you contact them and say this isn't a refractor, they say "WHAT RU TALKING AOUBT??????"

I hate when at the top of my thread I politely say: "please post what cards you have. I wont check buckets", and then someone just doesnt read the thread and says check my bucket. I wouldnt post little things in the thread if I wanted people to ignore them.
I also have having to converse with someone who
talks like this:
I luv ur Rayz b8se. u wanna trade?
use english, french, whatever, just make it a real language and not gibberish

Yeah man, it kills me. Not only are they completely disregarding what you wrote, but they give the shortest little lazy replies "plz cmb".
If I'm feeling up to it I'll play around with them and send them a PM like this:
"Hey, you said you were interested in _____, what are you offering to trade? I checked your bucket but I didn't see any of my teams. I'm assuming you just don't have the cards scanned because I clearly wrote out what teams I'm interested in and you wouldn't have replied if you don't have the teams I very clearly listed in my post, so let me know."

I personally would rather check a bucket than a list. But it would drive me crazy if I said I wanted a list and I got a bucket.

Mostly the members who talk like that are kids. Kids act like kids. But this place isn't supposed to be like school or something, right? But it still needs to have guidelines for like saying, il giev u ym tex gu 4 ur sox insirts

well i usually am not that specfic on others unless a player thread, but if i went on your threads, i'd either list them out or give you direct links to the cards. its called manners, which some people on here dont seem to have?
i also hate when i have a player collecting thread, and its the only thing i want on that thread, so they post "cmb", so i do and they dont have anything, so i say "you dont have x" and they say, "oh, i thought you would want other things"
also i hate when people say "i really need paypal its an emergency" and then the next day they are buying on here, or winning ebay auctions
and to finish it off, i hate when you get a post that says "i like x, pm me"
there to lazy to send a pm to you, its pathetic

I agree on the kids. Allthough there are many kids that are mature and behave like adults.
These members on the board that are kids perfectly articulate and post in a legible way. It's a select few that haven't quite perfected their english skills.

I agree for the most part.
Why should I take a person seriously if he/she does not take the time to be serious in making intelligible posts/messages?
Although, there is an element of convenience, especially online. I often use expressions such as 'lol' and 'lmk' because what they convey comes up often. This does not these kinds of expressions/abbreviations should be used for every word in a post though.

*Ahem*.
I really get angry when I post a thread requesting to trade for x players cards, and I get 10 PMs saying that someone could do $$$ Dlvd. If I'm looking to trade, odds are, I want to trade
.
Another thing that really grinds my gears (haha) is when someone asks me who I collect when it clearly states who I collect in my signature. In fact, I even have a banner of the main person I collect, and people still don't pay attention.
