It's very clear people. Read between the lines!!!!!!!! Do not reference "Beckett" when listing prices or answering questions on the values of cards.
"Hey Joe Blow, what is the the listed value of such and such card?"
"Here you go cheap skate Sam, the "Book Value" (NOT BECKETT) is such and such".
If the value you give just happens to be the same as Beckett, so what.
You could have gotten it from Beckett, Tuff Stuff or my underground (available only to me) price guide. Just don't reference "Beckett".
That should be it.............

Has a representive from Beckett ever actually made an issue...until then I wouldnt worry...I think Beckett has better things to do than worry about a few people accessing their OLB or magazine to help a trader out with a BV

I think having an OPG from SCF is an awesome idea then we wouldn't have to be switching back and forth from site to site figuring out BV on cards.
Can't wait to see it.

The problem is, by the time they made an issue of it legal proceedings would already be in motion. I work in the music industry and can tell you that a lot of people--from bar owners to singers to music teachers--have been burned in that very way. The fines for copyright violation in the US are massive and people break the law all the time without realizing it. As for Beckett not having anything better to do; they make their money by selling price guides. If people are allowed to freely distribute such onformation, they will eventually go out of business.
That said, I can't wait for the SCF price guide. Beckett BVs have never reflected the trading that goes on on this site or others very accurately.

As an added measure, couldn't the word "Beckett" be filtered in the same way as curse words? Maybe turn the word "Beckett" into something new and colorful?

Its Unbelievable that beckett, could do something like this, it just goes to show that they want more total control over the Hobby and everyone. Can you say collusion, Not happy about this but rules are rules..

It's not a reaction at all. The site owner has decided that rather than wait for Beckett to make a big deal about it he would rather eliminate the problem before it becomes a problem.
You don't wait for the wheels to fall off of your car before you tighten the lugnuts do you? Same concept.
Beckett has done nothing. This is a decision made by the owner of the site and it was not influenced by any outside source. It's just good business.

Does anybody saved down the whole OPG and printed it or put it into a textfile? If it happened, then it's okay.
They could be happy that someone is using their new site. They started to go to the wrong way.
I understand them, but with these moves, I don't want to use their Price Guide system. Can't wait the SCF's OPG. Go guys, make it :)
