So far it sounds like there is a couple of kobe guys and couple lebron bu mostly MJ (not surprised) lol. But I like that everyone is ethier giving opinons or facts. Thanks

How about look at it this way?

MJ- 6 NBA Finals, 6 rings
Kobe- 5 NBA Finals, 3 rings
Lebron- 1 NBA Final, no ring

When MJ is in the finals, he becomes unstoppable and has the killer instinct.
What I've realized past LA, Boston Finals is that Kobe is no Jordan.
He is the closest thing NBA has ever seen to Jordan and he is 90% there.
But Jordan is Jordan, the best player ever played the game.
He is the true winner, true closer, finisher whatever u say.

For Lebron, he is still too young and its hard to determine what he will become in his later years.
I mean, look at Kobe early in this decade and he is nothing like Kobe today.
For this is a true fact though.
As good as Lebron is in getting to the basket, he really need to develop his jump shots to become the complete player.

Bird, Jordan, and Kobe all had or have complete jump shots and became the best of the game. Lebron is young right now, but as he gets older, he needs to develop his jump shots. That's one of the qualifications to be the "BEST" in my opinion.

I agree with everyone, there is no point of this discussion.
Kobe still have 7 or 8 years left on his career and Lebron had a LONG way to go.
But as of today, at this point of history, nobody is better than MJ.

The average retirement age of NBA players is around 36. Personally, I don't think Kobe will play till 40, especially if he's able to win a couple of championships in the next few years proving that he can do it without Shaq.

Kobe has maybe up to 3 years of prime left before it starts going downhill. So Kobe's best chance to win a few more championships is now.

As for Lebron, he has no jump shot it'll be great if he has one, but that's not his game and doesn't need to be right now. Even without the shot, he can still probably win 10 rings if he can get a second all-star type caliber next to him (Mo Williams is good but not a true all-star) and they develop any type of chemistry.

I think at the end of their careers, Kobe (unless he really turns it up these next 3 seasons) is still one step short of MJ, Lebron still have the potential if he continues improving all aspects of his game (defense, FT, perimeter shooting) and get the right people around him.

Lebron needs to improve his jumpshot and his free throw shoothing. MJ is the best by far. Kobe is a good player but not a great player like MJ. Kobe is not going to win a ring without Shaq.

Kobe is just a good player???

I have to disagee with u on that one.

Kobe is one of the greatest player in NBA history and he is up there with MJ, Bird, Magic, Kareem, West, Russell, Wilt etc.

I agree Kobe is not as good as MJ was, but like I said before, he is 90% there.

He just have to prove that he can win another championship without shaq.

I think Kobe can do it.

    i agree he just "Good"?!

He is like the top 5 Best basketball players of all time. Ad he is so close to jordan just needs some more years to do it. He can win a championship by him self. Jordan needed pippen for all his championship and rodman for the last 3 championships. So jordan couldnt do it by himself ethier

    ok

ok but lebron is very early in his career like some other people said and hes getting ALOT better every year and hes a pass before shoot guy unlike mj or kobe mj was kinda a 1 man team at one time and had to scroe and kobe's just a beast that makes every shot he shoots. lebron look to see what there and who is open and if no1 is open he just makes things happen. bye the end of lebron career he will have atleast a few mvp awards if not more and probably 4+ championships. every year lerbons team keeps getting better wich might lower his ppg since hes a pass first guy.but give him a few years and he will be the most dominate player in the league.
