Vertical Jump Programs
I am looking to find the best possible vertical jump program to increase my vertical jump.
Have any of you been through a vertical jump program? If so, how did it go?
Which program do you recommend?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

not really a "program" but he boxes always work great.... get 3 boxes of different sizes and put them in line.... jump from smallest to biggest and work it back.... make the third one about as high as you can jump and keep increasing as you can

Thanks man! Have you tried this before? If so, how did it work out? Did it improve your vertical jump and how often did you do it?

i did it every day leading up to basketball season... not sure how much it improved but i went from being about 2 inches short of dunking to dunking two hands in about 12 weeks.. of course there was weightlifting and other things involved in that... it was my sophomore year of high school

I used the same method when I used to play volleyball. It really improves your jump

Get a good plyometrics program going... box jumps are a part of that, but that's not the only thing out there that can help you. Olympic lifts (which take time and a good instructor/coach to learn properly), combined with plyo will build power and explosiveness. Straight weight lifting will build strength, but will not necessarily help you jump higher.
A hard plyo workout is only necessary 2-3 days per week max... any more than that and the risk of injury starts to greatly outweigh the gains.
Best thing about plyo... most of the time, you don't even need special equipment. A large number of the techniques can be done on flat ground, or stairs, or with a cone or bench.

My buddy and I back in school had a pair of Strength Training System Strength Shoes. They are ugly looking, but they increased my vertical leap 6 inches. I did a check, EastBay has them for $129.99.

Thanks guys! Anyone else have any good or bad experiences with vertical jump programs that they want to share?

Try working on your legs, do sets of 20s. Leg curls, squats, and toe raises are good ones. I tried Jumpsoles a while back and they worked.

Thanks man!
I already can touch the rim with ease, so I just need about another 6-8 inches! I think I will be forming my own workout plan instead of paying for someone else's!
