I have shoeboxes full of commons from over the years. Only cards I have thrown away are commons that are damaged real bad.

I also never throw any away. I save base up, and then give them away to someone who really can use them and/or appreciate them. That's why I never create a thread asking "Who wants free cards?". I pick who I want them to go to :)

I have some more so someone will probably be getting some more base soon.

I save all my base, my dad saved the base from the 80s even though it's worth nothing now It's still fun to sift thru thousands of cards and maybe find a gem. So I save my base to give to my kids.

I also can't throw away cards..even when there damaged I put them in a separate box..when I throw away a card or try to..no matter who it is I feel terrible.

Same here. I even feel terrible when I hear about cards other people throw away.

    Unfortunately,
I have thrown away cards, about 10,000 that were damaged due to a pipe burst in my house. Though they were base and commons, that hurt. I am one that doesn't agree with throwing out base and have, on several occasions, asked a card shop owner if I could get the cards out of the wrapper bin. I don't mind it because I love the hobby over the hits.
Luckily, there is a card shop close to my house in Hawaii that boxes up commons and base from various sets and the owner now has a "Free Shelf." There is only one catch though, you can only get one item or box per visit and you had to of bought at least one card. I don't mind spending a few dollars on a pack if I can take the unwanted base off of his hands.

I am in full support of a thread that pays for S&H only for base and common cards. I always enjoy adding to my 130,000 + card collection.

I have alot of base and or common cards of all sports except for basketball, and they take up most of my closet space. I hardly throw out any cards out except for a few cards that I thought werent cards.

When I first quit the hobby in the late 90's, I went through all of my 5000 count boxes that contained late 80's/early 90's stuff... pulled out the rookies/stars that I wanted and then took them to the flea market. lol... nobody wanted them for $5 a box (that's almost as cheap as the box itself). so, i took them to goodwill and donated it. since i didn't own at the time, i let my parents use it as a tax write-off.

Just so people here know, I always have some interest in paying shipping for boxes of base. So, if you have a mess of base you want to get rid of, I could give you shipping for them. Just send me a PM and let me know.

I unfortunately can no longer afford to trade outside of the US. Even Canada rates are way too high!
