Sorry to hear that Khendra! Just keep looking, and don't give up. When you go for the interviews, don't think about the ones in the past. Be positive. Take your time on things, don't get nervous, and think about it. You know you can do it, but you just get too stressed about it. Think of it like you're doing it at home. You'll find something! Good luck!!

The problem with this last interview is they tested things I have never done before. I didn't feel nervous, I just didn't know the procedures. I have not had on the job training for them. If I haven't been taught how to mail merge or make a precise Excel spreadsheet, there is no way for me to execute it properly. As such, that is why I am not applying for clerical jobs anymore. But thanks for the encouragement. :)

This may be out there a bit but check to see if there are any debt collection companies in your area. I know, I know it's not anyone's 1st choice for a job but the industry has been really good to me. I worked my way up from being a debt collector to a Sr. Director of Operations. The money has been very good, as a matter of fact its too good to leave. If nothing else it's a good temporary job until you can find something else. If you would like more information please PM me your location and I can see if there's anything in your area. I may even know someone that works there and could try to get you in. Either way, good luck!

Sorry to hear about issues you are having finding a job. Have you considered going through a staffing agency of some sort? I don't know what you are really looking at, me for example, I do computer work, I work for a local school district but have a good IT company to goto if the district thing ever fails.

    Thanks guys!

I'm not familiar with how debt collecting works - do they have very specific skill set or experience requirements that clerical jobs tend to have?

I have signed up with two temp agencies, but no luck so far. I plan on traveling through town next week to ask for applications at various stores.
