As a recent newlywed I can offer some advice... the biggest being this:

Split the chores.

This has worked out well for me and my wife.

For instance...

I have agreed to do the majority of the cooking, and she has agreed to tell me after the fact that it wasn't what she wanted to eat.

I have agreed to do the physical labor jobs around the house, and she has agreed to tell me how I am doing it wrong and how I might do it better.

You see??? Compromise.

A very accurate suggestion...and it's either accept now...or later.

I sense the presence of bitter old men. Hmmmm ;)

That's what marriage makes you...almost immediately and no matter how old you really are.
