Some of those pet peeves bug me while other roll off my back. Just enjoy those that you enjoy spending time with on the site and avoiding those that irritate ya (pet peeves). Different strokes for different folks. Can't make everyone happy no matter how hard we try.

or when you are looking for a card for a set and someone posts saying they have a card of one of the players you need but its from another set.
most of these pet peeves don't bug me THAT much as I love this hobby but they are annoying

This is my single biggest pet peeve as well. I've received a few cards lately that are absolutely imprisoned under a sheet of tape. It's one thing to use a tiny little piece of scotch tape (heck, even UD does it with their redemption cards) but some folks go way overkill. I immensely dislike having to throw out toploaders but some of them are just ruined by the residue.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I don't like it much either...... but I've got a suggestion for anyone who is bothered by this: Keep a good supply of clean ones for yourself, and ship cards in the taped ones.
The store I go to in Guelph sells top loaders for $1.69 a pack (which is crazy good) so I'll quite often buy 100 of them in one shot. When I'm buying stuff, if they come in taped up top-loaders, I just swap them out.... and the ones with the tape on them become my ones to ship with.
I agree with you guys: Penny Sleeve, Top Loader, Team Bag is the way to go. I never put tape on myself, and I've never had a complaint.

I do tape, but its a small piece. Im sorry, plastic costs enough that buying team bags and dealing with that mess isnt worth it. I feel im in the majority. I have received exactly 4 out of 30ish trades where the card is in a team bag.

I don't think you need to appologize for anything. Like I was saying.... as a sender (weather it be trade or sell) it's your responisbility to pack the cards in a manner that they will show up in good condition; how the person receiving them wants to display them (case with or without tape, binder, thicker case, whatever) that's their own call.
For me..... obviously I always prefer getting my cards inside of clean top loaders, packed inside of team bags. That's not usually the case though.... and the 'dirty' top loaders are what I use to ship with anyway. (I just don't put more tape on them). No big deal for anyone.

And more and more with the thicker card stock, tape is becoming irrelevant. Cards sliding out of toploaders seems to be less of a concern

exactly! and as ranford says, my shop as well sells top loaders for cheap so i usually put pc cards in new top loaders and ship in crummy ones
and nash, make that 5 that shipped in team bags cause mines coming like that

People who put "pm sent" in a thread.
A message to tell us we received a PM pops up when we come into the forum.

i'm guilty here some of the time. I like to do this due to sometimes people may read pm's and not reply and when they check their thread its a sort of reminder to reply
