Best Modern Western - Round 2

I think we've got enough precincts reporting to declare the winners in Round 1...time to move on to Round 2!

The only real surprise to me in Round 1 is that Broken Trail didn't get a single vote...has nobody seen it? It's actually pretty good. 3:10 to Yuma over Assassination of Jesse James and Maverick over Appaloosa were the only upsets, but I expected both of them, so not true upsets I guess.

I really like the #3/#8 matchup here...both Clint Eastwood legends. I'm pretty sure Unforgiven will win, but my vote goes to Pale Rider, love the Preacher. The #4/#5 matchup is interesting as well...Costner as the lead vs. Costner as the #2. I have to vote Costner as #2 based solely on the beginning of the shootout seen at the end...if you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about.

Well how about this for perfect timing...from Wednesday on AZCentral.com:

Tombstone: Not big enough for dueling performers

Marshal Larry Talvy's phone rang. There was trouble in town. A bunch of men in black dusters with guns were walking down Allen Street. Again.

Talvy bolted uphill to the town's main drag, strode toward the armed men and laid down the law, New West style. Show me your permit, he said, or you'll be ticketed for an illegal street performance.

It's been 127 years since Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp fought the Clantons and McLouries at the O.K. Corral, and Tombstone is still trying to get a handle on its gunslinger problem. Only now the desperadoes aren't brawling over cards or horses. They're fighting for tourist dollars.

I was torn between Pale Rider and Unforgiven, but went with Pale Ruder.

Maverick, one of the few i've seen and it never gets old. there are parts in that movie that just make me bug out. The best hunt scene gets me going.

That's what I would expect...because that's the only reason you wouldn't vote for it. I personally think it's the best western ever made, should be in anybody's top 5. It's really that freakin good.
