I fully agree with you on the nonsense of the whole 4-4 talk. As the poster above said if he was Thomas he too would have punched Avery with the blocker on, fully agree with that as well. I just love that a third line player actually gets emotions going.
I guess I have you laughing at me and yes I do watch wrestling, aswell as UFC. I have to defend fellow wrestling fans by saying some of us are the classiest people you meet and that also goes for pretty much every wrestler I have meet. Just so you do not get me confused with other wrestling fans, I know it is predetermined. I think you and me both know that if you went to your country club and cursed at members and spat at them you would be getting escorted out right after them.
What we have here is a difference of opinion. It no reason for name calling or being demeaning cause some one has a different view. I have to applaud you for checking you numbers on Avery and the Rangers.

I was more so referring to the WWF stuff, not UFC which is a legit sport. What I meant was not that it is demeaning of those who follow it, but rather that the people supporting Avery seem to appreciate the drama, the staged bs, the story lines, the self aggrandizing clowns, and just the overall level of outrageous behavior designed for entertainment, not sport. With Avery it always seems to be about what is he gonna do next, or "how funny was that" or whatever. That is not what sports is about. The whole "he helps the team" line is simply a way of condoning his antics.

It's WWE, the panda fund took it to the courts so they could no longer be known as the WWF.
I think most of Avery's antics are to get in the head of his opposition. To get them off of there game and mind set. I do think he helps his team and I do think some of his teammates dislike him.

I'd agree to a certain extent, but I just think it's incredible how he gets a pass on everything. I mean the fans and media completely bury guys like Drury and Gomez because of their contracts, however both of them play hard, and play the game the way it is supposed to be played. With Avery, he is either helping the team, or hurting them. It's pretty cut and dry. He's not skilled enough to be the type of player that contributes just by playing the game. There's been plenty of games where his antics or lack of skill hurt the team, yet nobody seems to care because every once in a while he has a game where he does something that works in their favor. Nobody brings up that in the Boston game there where 3 plays where he turned the puck over, one leading directly to a clear breakaway. Instead what gets brought up is how he got the team fired up by hitting someone in the head with his stick.

Avery is a P.O.S plain and simple. He is a clown and shouldn't be in the league. If he actually focused on PLAYING hockey he might be a decent player but he has to cheap shot people and the run away like a little baby afterward. If I remember correctly he had a run in with Savard when the Bruins crushed Dallas 6-1 earlier in the season and he finally answered the bell when Ference had enough.
Plain and simple this guy does NOT belong in the NHL!
