a basketball fan?
haha
If you saw the goals, you'd see what I'm talking about. There were some good goals. Guerin and Kennedy had the best goals of the series. But all of Crosby's goals were not because of his talent. He worked hard for his bounces yes, but they were not form his skill.
We can fight all you want, but unless you saw what I saw, then theres no reason to put in your two cents my friend.
And, I'm the first Philly fan to admit when a team flat out beats us, and in this series it could have gone either way. Anybody who watched the series can admit that

I don't appreciate you generalizing Flyers fans. That is completely unfair, and not needed on this forum. Please be respectful or don't comment. I have not made any disrespectful remarks towards the Penguins fans.

I wasn't generalizing any team at all to be honest.I was merely stating a sportsfan in general.I just get tired of fans excuses because their teams lost.If you took it personally,I apologize,no heart feelings

I was of the same thinking of moving one of the big guys. I thought maybe hartnell while his stock is as high as its gonna get, i think last year will be his best year statistically, but he seems to be a fan fav. I just point this out because you saw how much malone got on the market last year... they are almost carbon copies of each other in terms of play.

Griff? If that's your name....Sorry if I just pointed that as your name, but I wanted to actually call you by a name!
That's a great point. They really are carbon copies. The thing about Hartnell that they like is he's the funniest guy on the team. The players usually are seen laughing when they are near him. He's a fit on the team, and he and Lupol are best buddies off the ice often seen at the bar scene together.
It would be a tough call, but Hartnell would definitely draw more interest. I don't think he will get the points that he got this year again, but if a player like Claude Giroux was on his line it may go even higher.
That's a great point you made, we'll see. I think the Flyers will try to go after Jay Bo again, but Holmgren will really need to make the space. I think Matt Carle is gone, as of the others I have no clue.

Griff is fine. It is what all my friends call me. Ill reciprocate, does rich work or you?
I knew hartnell was a fan fav, but you describe him as the glue for the team, i wouldnt try and break that. As a pens fan i would miss him, sometimes he is the best player on our team :-). Reguardless being top heavy on forwards is never a bad thing. I wish we had those problems at wings. Kuntiz is great and will be around at least one more year, and Billy G as much as he is one of the great american born hockey players, im sure you will agree, he is starting to lose his legs this deep into the season (god i hope he proves me wrong). Sykie and tenk are great players but with the world class centers we have id love to have some wingers who can keep up an entire season.
I know im getting ahead of myself but there is always room for imporvement unless of course you are detroit.Last edited by griff2311; 04-27-2009 at 01:45 AM.

Harntell had a rough series against you guys. His line was outworked, and i think Lupol is the most defensively irresponsible person on our team. Kunitz was a great pick up, and he and Guerin fit right in with Crosby. Perfect move by Shero! Guerin had a few big goals for you guys in the series! If anything, his veteran experience should help, but you're right, I'm not sure he'd be around next year. Maybe you guys can strike a long term deal with Kunitz but i'm not sure where the Pens sit with cap space.
I'm a huge fan of Fedotenko. He was one of my favorite Flyers, and no matter what team he plays on he scores big goals against the Flyers. With your amazing centers, it will be tough to find world class wingers who you guys can also afford. Regardless, the pens are set for a while. The Eastern Conference isn't going to get easier as time moves on. The Pens, Caps, and Flyers all have young leadership and I can only imagine what battles will take place in the future.

Hey guys just want to put in my two cents and say that the Pens were outworked a fair amount in this series and although they didn't play the best hockey they could they still did what was needed to win. As for the comments about the Penguins needs going forward I think they need to look at not a persons stats line but the possible chemistry they could have with the world class centers the Pens have.
Honestly, I find it frustrating when a team (any team) goes for a certain player just because of the name on his jersey. I mean just because a player plays well on one team doesn't mean they will automatically be great when put next to a player like Crosby or Malkin. Look at Matt Cooke, Tyler Kennedy and Jordan Staal. I think these three were the Pens best line but really if you put any of those three with the other players are they going to be as good???
Free agency is too me a huge crap shoot and some time you strike gold and other times (SATAN) you miss.....
