If it´s for safety reasons than it´s even more weird. The CTT (portuguese postal service) is regarded as one of the best in Europe. Maybe it´s because the Madrid airport has more traffic capacity, i´d be more inclined to that. The Lisbon airport has limited traffic capacity, that´s why they´re preparing to build a new one.

It´s a shame if everything has to go to Spain first...

    Cheers for the info

ps: i´ll pm you in a minute regarding that spanish site

I was told it had something got do with security. I assume they mean that the Spanish airports have more (or better?) facilities and some shipping companies have no right to fly directly to Lisbon.

Let me know if I can be of any assistance in the future, Nuno.

    See cardsrus1's Items on eBay

Almost everytime i want to buy a box of cards, online stores try to charge me a ridiculous ammount of money for shipping a box.

In some cases, after i telling them that the shipping is way cheaper, they reconsider and lower their price, but other times they just say "well this is what the mail company charges, so we can´t do anything".

Do they think i don´t check the US mail site to confirm the price? Do they think i never received anything from USA?

I received one of those card boxes with 800 base cards just last week from a friend, and the shipping costs are stamped there: $26.45. Yesterday dacardworld.com wanted me to pay $23 for shipping a 72 card box.

It is because they MUST use a shipping service that can be tracked with a signature. The rates they can get are much cheaper than I can get. I looked into shipping a case to Japan but the necessary shipping charges where around $100.
