My vote goes to Mason, but we know how the NHL's voting committees like to overlook deserving goaltenders...

My understanding is all the voting occurs before the playoffs start, right? I heard a couple sportswriters whining about how they wish they could now vote for Ryan after the way the playoffs have gone in Columbus.

Yeah, like the playoff pressure is the same for a rookie forward who gets 12 minutes a night and a rookie goaltender for a team that struggles offensively who gets 60.

I think Mason should get it, but Versteeg should get a very strong consideration as well, he tore it up this year, especially on the shorthanded goals!

Why is Pekke Rinne nowhere in there? He has been just as good as Mason. I do not see how a guy like Versteeg can get nominated when he is not even one of the 5 best players on his team. Ryan and Hiller carried Anaheim, as did Mason and Rinne with their respective teams. Versteeg started hot, and then played poorly the second half.

I really don't know how you could not vote for Mason.

Sure Bobby Ryan had a great year, but he has great players around him, such as Getzlaf, Perry, Niedermeyer, Pronger, Selanne, etc. Mason has 3 or 4 good players in front of him at most. Rick Nash being the only superstar. Bobby Ryan is a great young player, but Mason is most deserving hands down
