    Why Do You Collect ???

Curious as to why some people collect cards. Do you do it strictly to try and sell or because you actually love to collect?

I collect for the hobby of it, I like getting Game used and autos of my favorite team/players. I used to sell but ebay has gotten crazy with fees and paypal is a scam of a company so I stopped selling on there.

I'll by a case just to put together mutiple sets and see what "Hits" I get, but unlike most people who by cases I think, my main concern isn't how much can I get for the hits but just enjoying the cards themselves. I bought a topps football case last year and it took me over 4 hours to open it and I enjoyed every second of it not careing if I didn't pull that major hit or not!

I really just like the thrill of finding autographed cards of players from my 3 favorite teams (Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots). Theres nothing cooler than finding some old school player autograph, or the new rookies when they come out.....
And if certain playersr don't have autographs I'll try and find a GU jersey, or bat, or patch card...or just a #ed or RC just to have something of them.

I used to buy a lot of boxes...but in the end you can only lose a lot of $$ that way, and ther thrill is gone...it's like buying those istant scratch tickets...yeah, every once in awhile you'll hit a big one, but for the most part you don't even break even half the time.

I may buy a box here and there, but I just like trading or buying singles I need to hang up in my sports room!!

I stricly collect for the sake of collecting as a hobby. I only buy boxes to feed the pack busting addiction. Whatever I get in there becomes tradebait. I do not sell stuff. Not interested at all in trying to make a profit. This is my hobby and I try and keep it that way. Fun fun fun!

I unfortunately can no longer afford to trade outside of the US. Even Canada rates are way too high!

I just collect because it's fun an addicting. I love the thrill of opening packs and hoping to find a nice card for my collection. I also just started collecting rocco baldelli a few months ago and it's fun finding different cards of one player. I'm only 16, I don't really worry about how much I'm making, and I don't think I've sold any of my cards
