Can someone back me up on this? Is that not the job of the announcer? To make the play sound exciting other wise alot of times it would just be mindless droning and no one would want to listen.
However the one person I will say is a horrible announcer although he is still new at it is Marc Crawford. I swear hes the Madden of hockey announcers. "The player shot the puck and it went behind the goalie and it crossed the line. Thats a goal." Please god someone hire him as a coach just to get him out of the booth-----------just dont let it be edmonton lol.

Personally I think he's a touch overrated. He's great defensively, but how important really is that when he his whole team is excellent defensively. The marginal difference between his defense and the next guy on the team would not change the outcome of a game nearly much as people like to pretend, if at all.
Offensively he's good, but I think he benefits a lot from playing with Hossa, Franzen, Zetterberg, Lidtrsom, Rafalski, and Holmstrom. Over 1/3 of his points are on the powerplay in which he is always with those mentioned guys, and generally at even strength is usually out with them as well. That said he has never posted a 100 point season (close the past 2) and is also IMO a guy who does not always show up in the playoffs. Last year and the year before he played well, but just about every other playoff season he was a complete bust playoff time. Put Ovechkin, Malkin, or Crosby on Detroit and I'm sure they are a far better team than they are with Datsyuk.

I'm really pleased with the way the Ducks handled themselves in those two games, home ice didnt seem to mean much to the Wings really and it was two very close games, great playoffs hockey.
As always guys, lets keep the comments civilized, just because you do not agree with someone doesnt mean they dont know anything...just that you have a different opinion and that's allowed.

I think Jonas Hiller deserves a lot of credit. His first year playing in the playoffs, and 59 saves against the Red Wings, in Detroit? Great job IMO
