I have a microscope for the computer, as well and use it on my cards. It's a great tool.

This one came from an ad in SCD and was $100 if I remember correctly. Like I said graders use 11x and this microscope has 11x so I can get a pretty good idea of what to expect. The only thing is though it's hard to get a very accurate measurement on borders because you can only see so much of the card at one time.
