Is there really a diffrence between these two hits.

I know one could say the puck was not being played but when Brian Campbell made many comments about it being a gutless hit I was just thought to myself of his hit in R.J.

I am fine with the way the Ref's ruled the play but it just amazing how the coaches see the hit as dirty and one as clean. I understand sticking up for your player. Of course stick up for your teammate but don't try to state as Campbell does that people can get hurt by hits like this. As his hit on R.J. was just as devastating a open ice hit with a player that put his head down.

Just wonder if anyone really thought about all the comment Brian made and looking at his own hit he calls it totally clean but Kronwall is just dirty and gutless. I think there a difference as the puck was not played and if that the case the ref's made the right call. No problem there.

But did both players leave their feet? Did one hit with elbow, forearm, shoulder, while the other did something totally different. To me they are what hockey is all about and to Label one dirty you have to label them both dirty in my honest opinion.

They were both turned into "vegetables" for a while.
The crowd really loved that Campbell hit!

I agree on the first point. Well the crowd loved that hit as it was the home crowd. If Kronwalls would have been in Detroit probably would have had the same reaction.

the only difference in the hit is that one guy is wearing a Detroit Red Wings uniform which means your automatically targeted to get screwed by the officials. Otherwise they're the same play. Puck in skate = possession ; end of story.

I see two things. When Umburger gets hit the puck had just come off his stick and like Don said "one hit with elbow, forearm, shoulder, while the other did something totally different" Campbell keeps both his hands on the stick.

    Hello haters...

Havlat got wrecked, plain and simple.

ANYONE who tries to say that was a dirty hit has some "Red Wing Hater Goggles" on.

Face it. He got laid into next week and didn't even know where he was.

After looking at this picture, are you going to still say its dirty???

Havlat was trying to be pretty and play the puck between his skates. Shoulda kept his head up.

    GO WINGS!!!

    Thanks
    Mike

Now, who saw Eager or Versteeg just throw a shoulder at Filppula when the puck was nowhere around??? At least he got called for the penalty.

I am just happy that the REFS finally did their job. They knew Chicago was running around trying to be dirty and they called the proper penalties. (if you don't call it, it won't stop)

lol a fancy play the between the skate.. the puck took a bad hop off the seam in the boards. Also, according to rule #56 puck being 1.5 inches away from him is irrelevant because he never touched the puck. I don't even like the hawks or the wings, but you wings fans are just asinine.
