They don't have to do it in hockey. They do it because it is the absolute right thing to do, the code of honor reigns supreme in hockey. What both LeBron and Howard did at the end of the game were equally appalling. No need to throw that shot up (wouldn't it be more fun to throw it up in the air anyways?) and no need to leave the court and pout without congratulating your opponent. Shaking hands IMO is what reminds everyone this is a GAME! Again, good sportsmanship is a reminder to everyone this is a GAME. It is that important.

I would have dunk that ball. I don;t care about mercy and none of that ****** thing. There are making a big deal out of this and LJ not shaking hands after the game. Hey, he was not in the mood to do it so be it. I bet you none of the players cared

No i'm sure none of the players cared. Both actions by both Howard and James were detrimental to the spirit of Sport.

So you are telling me that the Sport spirit is gone or not the same because two players didn't behave how people wanted them too? This is a joke. You have to make people happy?

If you want to run around showing up your fellow competitors, for that matter your fellow man, go ahead that your business. This is not about making people happy, this is Respect. Respect for your fellow man and respect for the game that has given those two wealth, riches, and fame beyond our wildest imaginations. If you think what they did is ok, then its a question of character. This is not about making people happy, that is a gross over simplification of the issue.

Respect???? They earn that money because they are good at it. If the NBA does not care, The Cavs management does not care, then I don't care either. This is not about respect, this is because he is a baby....that's it. He needs to learn to loose.

LOL Dwight. It wasn't exactly classless...he was having fun in the situation. Having fun vs. being bitter is the difference. They get paid to play basketball and he, Dwight Howard, all 7 foot and whatever he is shot up a three with a few seconds left. Not a huge deal compared to not congratulating the other team.
I would of blocked him though! Stuff it back in his grill and say GET OUTTA HERE! He's only like 6 inches taller than me. What is he, 7'2"? I got a chance!
