I remember Pacific did that. It was like "Mike Modano wore this jersey during his 02-03 campain" Or something like that. It was cool!

I don't see a problem with multiple jerseys, sticks, etc. being used in a single game. This was done in several All-Star games. When I went in 1999 we were told that the player wear one in each period, the first jersey going to the charity auction, the second going for private sale, to either a collector or in most instances In the Game, and the third for the player to keep.
I think that multiple jerseys in a single game can solve a lot of problems, as long as it is not every game. As I have said several times if a rookie wears a different jersey in each period, there will be plenty of actual game used material for use on cards. Maybe those cards will have to wait a month or two into the season, but lets be honest, does the market really need an autographed, jersey, rookie card in every brand? To me that cheapens the concept. If the company wants to really give the collector value, save the autographed jersey rookie card for a few sets, not every set.

I was wondering about my Crosby inked sweaters from 06/07. It came out early in the season, I wish I knew if it was a RC season jersey. I though the next trend might be specific game jerseys. Stuff like 1st goal, 500th game, Cup finals game 4. Being a Wings collector, their pre-season names on jerseys are a completely different font than the season ones. More block letters. I see ALOT of these on jersey cards marked as used in an NHL game.
I have a couple 'practice worn' cards, but UD considers warm up jerseys 'NHL game used'. Many teams use a varient of a jersey for warm ups. They can resell them easy at a big mark up. Could this be where the suspect Caborik ones come from?

Should be easy to tell by the smell!!! I kind of like them from tough guys, I have a Probert glove card and love it. Most gloves have the name embroidered in them. I think this would be cooler than a shield card, likd of like the 'property of' stick cards.

Well there a lot out there to read on stuff about Ud and fakes.

I think that it’s awesome to own a signature of a legendary Hall of Famer who pitched almost 100 years ago, and who passed away 25 years ago. However, in light of the recent allegations about card companies, including Upper Deck, allowing fake cut signatures into some of their products, the card has lost a little bit of its luster for me. The wording on the back of the card that the signature was “independently authenticated by a third party authenticator” doesn’t inspire much confidence. I think that there’s a pretty good chance that the signature is real, if only because counterfeiters would probably be focusing their efforts on bigger names than Stan Coveleski, but it’ll always be a question mark in my mind. I probably won’t buy any more cut signature cards in the future, unless the card companies do something significant to give collectors more confidence that they’re completely authentic.

I seem to recall another little doody storm that UD was in the middle of back in 2006 which involved both Walter Johnson and Babe Ruth...although I never heard how it played out in the end.
Also (and again a bit unrelated), I noticed that the same author that posted the Covelski article also posted a story on a Cobb game-used piece that he picked up. Interested in Cobb, I read the article, and noticed a statement that he made that made me scratch my head...in the paragraph below the Cobb pic, read specifically the third-to-last sentence...

Is this just an MLB thing? It sure would be nice if the same standard was applied to hockey cards these days.

Good luck on that. Thanks for pointing that out.
If I recall your referring to one of the auto's being fake. I remember something that it was decided that the auto was indeed fake on the card. As for the resolution of what UD did to solve that problem I have no clue. Of course for all the millions of cards that a tiny percentage. As they rely on authenticators, 2nd parties, etc. for all the legwork that goes into verifying the cards etc. I am some is done in house while others is out of house.

I'm pretty sure it would be legit. If not, Upper Deck is extremely stupid and if it was to come out that autos or memorabilia was faked, they would be in a load of legal troubles...
