Nice information. I was out of town, so i couldn't get on the computer and post recently, but this is one of the first threads I came to. WWI: "The War To End All Wars" would have been that if only the treaty and Europe weren't so lenient when dealing with Hitler and Germany.

Isn't Versailles the former home of King Louis XIV with the giant house all of the gardens and fountains? That treaty was signed there? (I've been there, and it's probably my favorite place to visit in all of Europe!)

Yessir you got it. Originally built by King Louis XIV, the "Sun King", it was a tribute to the wealth and power of France at that time. The treaty was signed there, in the Hall of Mirrors. I've heard it's a very beautiful place and would love to go there someday!

Lots of people criticize the then Allied forces for being a little too lenient on the German nation. They definitely learned their lesson with World War II and made sure after that they wouldn't go easy on them again, and they sure didn't with all the reparations they were forced to pay.

Yes, WWII's ending was what they deserved. Hitler's life just goes to show that the common people as a group will follow anything they hear if they hear it enough.

There are some amazing man-made structures and this is only one of them. Thanks for the input, Kyle!

I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not...no offense intended to anyone, but most 18 year olds know little to nothing about politics or the candidates.

Crossing Niagra on a tight rope...now that's impressive!

As always, thanks for the post Ryan!

I agree with your statement, Darren. Public schooling does little to inform students of the political schemes and issues circulating elections. They outta have some sort of required class for graduating seniors or 18 year olds in general that make them knowledgeable of the political world and/or hot topics in politics.
