I've heard the Rangers rumors are true, but Sather isnt biting on that. I would be very disappointed if he gave up Callahan or Staal, these are young guys that have been playing very well and are showing a lot of potential. Heatley has the potential of screwing us on cap space and deciding he doesn't want to play here anymore, just like every other team he has been on.

I think Heater goes nowhere. Ottawa can't afford to lose him for what they will get offerred under these circumstances, and he isn't worth near what they want anyways.

He WAS a 50 goal scorer. It's been a couple of seasons since then. They want current 50 goal scorer return, for a guy who was under 40 last year. He has a monster contract, and a history as a malcontent.

I think that if Heatley isn't traded before the regular season, he won't be around far into the season with the pressure from fans since he already expressed his desire to leave. The fans and the media will be all over him and who knows how his teammates will react and treat him. I'm guess his numbers will drop which will ignite the fans and media even more.

If Murray is smart, he will drop his asking price sometime throughout the summer before Heatley's stock drops in November or December.

Heatley did not waive his NTC, holding out until midnight tonight so Ottawa would have to pay him his $4-million signing bonus. You ask for a trade, your team reluctantly finds a suitor and agrees to a deal, then you refuse to waive the NTC and at the same time hold out so you can screw Ottawa out of $4-million in bonuses when you don't plan on being there next season? If that's how all this plays out I have lost a lot of respect for Heatley. I'm glad Burkey shot Heatley down from day one :P
