NO NO NO NO NO! It'd make zero sense, why would the Pistons want an injury prone player for 2 players, one of Prince who never misses a a game

I agree, that would be a horrible trade for the pistons. Besides if either of them go it will be for a big.Last edited by flexboogie; 07-03-2009 at 08:24 AM.

100% agree. David Lee chose to call the Lakers out in the press w/ Bynum and Ariza. I think the Lakers had enough of his BS & decided to call him on his bluff. Sucks for Ariza b/c I think he really wanted to stay in LA. Another case of an agent not looking out for his player.

Arzia is just another over rated over paid player 8.9 ppg, 4.3 reb and 1.8 ast. Not much of an everday impact player to earn that kind of cash...

His defense is what is great about him...and that you can't see by looking at stats...plus, his offense will improve.

Well, his defense is okay. The thing that made him have the reputation of a good defensive player, was his ability to read passing lanes, but he's still average when it came to 1 on 1 match ups. That's why Kobe took a lot of his defensive assignments in the playoffs.
However, the one thing I think made Ariza such a great player, and the thing that will make Houston fans fall in love with this guy, is the energy and attitude he brings in each and every game. Never once, did I hear Ariza complain about anything, he would just come in every game and give it his all. He never got to high of himself, and he never got too low, he was always on a even keel.
I still kinda wish we were able to work something out with him, but it is what it is, and I can't really complain on his replacement. He will be missed, and Houston fans, you guys do have a gem with Ariza

Up until the past few months, Ariza has been basically a journeyman, showing some potential, but never really making his mark. He was fantastic in the playoffs, but to me his true value is unproven. With Artest, you know exactly what youre gonna get: Great defense, solid rebounding, constant hustle, streaky 3-poont shots, and lots of technicals. As a Lakers fan, I'm sorry to see Trevor go, but I prefer the bird in the hand. And I agree with the member who said Ariza's agent is to blame here. He just didn't have the numbers to play hardball like that, and I think his future would be better with Phil, Kobe, and Derek on his side.
