no, the trader didn't advise me he was shipping in that method. I've never received a PWE prior to this and it just irked me.

don't ya just love the PWE/Bubble Mailer controversy?

I just purchased a figurine off eBay for the wife. I thought the shipping was a little high at $6.75, but we STOLE the figurine for $2.00.

The item came in the mail today. The box was 6"d X 7"l X 6"h (the figure stands just over 3 1/2 inches.). This box was well packed with peanuts. An elephant could have stood on the box and not damage the figurine.

I was surprised...I expected the item to be mailed in a large bubble mailer (yes, that has happened before!)

Guess what I am saying is......I don't mind paying for the shipping if the seller is gonna use the money the right way!

I believe this sounds of a trader that may be looking for a economically cheaper way to mail. One thing to safeguard this is to communicate with future traders, if you haven't traded with before, and know thier practices, is how you expect your end to be shipped. Most of us assume we all use bubble mailers, but a few of us have other methods.

Ask first after you complete your trade. A lot of people on here do this already, and makes for a real good communicating trade experience.

PWE, I receive them every once and then, and the cards are always in excellent condition. But the latest one I received from ebay was packaged pretty funny. PWE + two cardboard taped together. Inside the cardboards was the card without toploader. I gave a 5 star rating for originality, and the card is in top condition lol.

plain white envelope or gold covered envelope don't matter to me as long as the card (s) is in good shape.

i totally agree. just the otherday i got one in a PWE. no big deal. it was taped between some thick paper cardboard and in a toploader. no big deal. it is nice to know ahead, that they tell you , in case anything happens and they are responsible
I don't mind getting a PWE as long as the trader lets me know in advance AND they take full responsibility if the card gets damaged. I've had one trade here that involved one and it went perfectly fine.

It actually states in the SCF rules that any member shipping in a PWE MUST tell that they are doing that. I hate it but it has happened 1 or 2 times from ebay sellers. Card was in perfect condition both times but if shipping was more than $2 I'm leaving 4 star feedback for the shipping cost.

I got one from an ebay seller about a month ago. I asked why he charged $3.50 for SH and sent the card in a PWE.

He came back and said he spent over $3 on shipping it. ??????

Box of 25 envelopes for $1
box of 25 Top loaders for $2.50
    Stamp .54 canadian

He must have used a bunch of gas

I received a Carey Price YG last week in a PWE. I left a popsitve yet agressive feedback. If the top loader would have been packaged with decoy cards I would understand, but this seller was just making money off of shippping. Crazy!
