Mike not all collectors want high end gloss product and certainly not every week. I may consider joining this promotion but if it becomes strictly $20 off a $200 box I won't be interested since my main area of interest is vintage and I only am interested in modern products where building a set is actually possible.
Maybe you get them to offer 2 boxes a week, one for the "hit" crowd and one for those of us who still try and put together the Topps sets each year. There is nothing wrong with GU/AU stuff, I mess around with it for vintage players but I won't buy a box just because of the potential of a "hit".
No matter what they do, not everyone will ever be happy every single week.Last edited by ballsandstrikes; 07-09-2009 at 04:03 PM. Reason: typo

I'll +1 this as well.
Not everything has to be an 80$ off a high end product. But when you hit a low end product like this, you have to compete with the Targets and the Wal-marts.
All in all, its not hockey, so what do I care? But, if a similar product of this nature was offered for Hockey... welll..
Speaking from a Canadian location a a 10$ off price just means that s/h will bring it back to regular price. In order to buy this, I have pay online and the inherent risks associated with it, then wait x days for delivery, get hit with a 5$ customs fee, and finally pay tax on the product. OR, I could just pop off to the local store and buy for the same price when its all said and done.
I think this kind of deal is better for US residents, but I don't know.
All the best, blow out cards! Every so often these deals blow us away! But, they can't all be like the first one. Some will invariably be average.
Cheers,
reoddai

This is me trying to be constructive lol....
I'm all for variation of the collecting spectrum, but the thing I think that is with this product for example, is I can go down the street to Target and buy a box of this for cheap. Albeit it has about 1/4th the amount of cards, but since there are not real 'hits' in this product, do I need 648 cards from a 100 card base set?
I understand there are people on here that do enjoy collecting random sets regardless of value, just to build sets, but the masses don't typically buy very low-value boxes that don't offer much for trade bait, or even personal collection pieces.
I just think that overall you probably won't get a great response on a product that we can get at Target/Wal-Mart for a few bucks and has little to offer collectors outside of making 4-6 sets.
On a side note, getting a VIP to support SCF should be the main reason, I don't post a ton as I ususally read but I know how much time/money/frustration goes into running a website & forums, so VIP is a great way to help out. This program with BlowOutCards is a bonus really :)
Here's hoping next weeks deal is hot! :D

Mike, just wasnted to let you know that upperdeckkids.com no longer offers prizes for entering in codes. They ended that in around January. You might want to take that off of the description.

I personally just think it would be better for Blowout to offer a percent off to SCF VIP members on all boxes or something. Not to be a complainer, but the boxes since the first one have all essentially been cheaper, low end, sub par products. I always take a look, and still buy from blowout frequently, just none of these deals have been all too appealing. I much prefer there weekend deals myself.
