Photobucket help
Can someone give me a basic step by step way to post my cards on photobucket? I check other peoples buckets and things are organized, and there are close ups of the cards. I have cards in my buckett. But not sure im doing it the most efficent way. I generally scan the card to paint spin it around so its the right way up. Save it then upload it to photobucket. Then crop it. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks Jake

Seems like you're doing what most people would do....got a link to your bucket? That way, maybe members can give you insight on what to change (if anything).

I scan then crop, resize etc if needed then upload. Pretty much what you are doing except I don't usually do any editing of the pic in photobucket.
It takes a little planning on what you want to do when you're making your albums and sub albums. Kind of think of it as a tree with branches For instance, if your are uploading pics from say 5 different sets make a sub album for each set within a general album for sets, then go to that subalbum to add cards to that set.
Just substitute for 'set' with what ever your organization calls for.
As a side note its nice to have names for your pics especially for trade pages and such, makes it much easier for folks.
It took me a couple of years of trial and error to think it through and arrange mine to the way I like and I'm still experimenting.

Theres the link to my buckett. I am going to scan all of my autos and GU of Bledsoe so i can apply for super collector. I suppose doing this by year is the best way to do it. So do i just click on add a new album for each different year? Thanks

If you have a bunch, that'd be a good way to do it. Also, with buckets, I've noticed that having one scan of multiple cards (like some of yours are) is a big turn off with trading. I know, personally, I'm not going to click through each picture just to see what's in there....other than that, not much else I can suggest that I'd change!

Yeah, with that many different cards, a sub album for each year would be the way to go.
Having all those cards in one big album would overwhelm the visitor I think. The only exception to multiple card scans I think would be for record purposes, I have my PC scanned that way to have a separate record for insurance purposes away from the house, not so much for trading and such.

is there a way you guys scan cards using a printer so the picture comes right to the computer screen
or do you just take pictures of the scan

Do you mean a scanner or a all in one printer-scanner? I've never run into a printer by itself being able to get pics. I use a scanner, right now its a HP scanjet 5370c. Pics go direct to computer. I've used Microtek and Visoneer in the past. Each scanner will have it's own software that sits between the scanner and the computer that talks back and forth enabling saving to the computer. If your using a camera there should be a way to get the pic to the computer by hooking the camera up through a usb port, at least my Canon Powershot A590 does it that way.

I'm not completely getting what you are asking.
You can't scan with a printer unless it's those all-in-one machines.
And usually, you just scan it, and it will be saved to a folder.
If you have a HP Scanner, it should go to a folder named "My Scans" which should be under your "documents."
