Continue your good work. I am sure a lot of people follow your comments on twitter. If you can build a website with your photos it would be super great. Until that time, it would be nice for the hobby to give information to everyone, not to only post your pictures/informations exclusively on HI, because we all know HI is not a public forum. What you wrote on twitter is great. No intention here in a debate on forums/owners because the managers of HI are not my friends. I hope you understand my point, the comment I made is for the community because database or not, nobody will forger the kind of cards I collect.

The only one I question is Pogge... Does UD just throw in Leafs rookies for the sake of it? Should be Mason instead for sure. Either way, the rest of the list is solid unlike the Ice rookies /99.

Here is also my comment about a database. When a complete database exists, when all the individuals of a population are known, we can rank the individuals from the worst copy to the nicest copy. For example, we can rank the best Stamkos #/99 cards, from the best one (example: #65/99) to the worst one with a blanck patch (example: #02/99). For example even the nicest copy of a Abdelkader The Cup Patch Auto RC #/249 would get a HUGE value just by knowing it is the best one produced. We can make the Top 10 of nicest RCs of every player in The Cup. People are already pay more for a great patch, imagine the value of the best Stamkos The Cup RC Patch Auto #/99 card? Priceless. People will identify it as a 1/1 card because it is the nicest RC possible to get from the product. A database is like grading, it adds rarity to the existing cards because we exactly know what we can get from that product. Ok, it cost $7000 to Jeremy to create the database, he has no legal contracts with UD and he can do what you want with the pictures of the database. What a great situation, for him and for the hobby. Why not printing a magazine with the photos of the database? At least 1000 people will easily pay $10 for it, easy. An existing magazine could purchase you the exclusivity of the pictures, as I think it will happen, even with an extra fee on this special magazine it will be sold out! And there will be no problem there, a magazine would be great! I do not understand UD to have not see the $$$ potential in a database. Distributors would have bought magazines of this database, collectors would have bought it like they buy a Beckett. Do you think a guy paying $1800 for a case of The Cup would not buy a $10 magazine of the pictures database of the patch cards? People will want to know if their 4-colors The Cup Patch Auto RC card (whatever it is a #/99, #/249, etc.) pulled from a The Cup tin is the nicest copy released, this way to get extra $$$ comparatively to a databse not known from the public. Now if the database is only known only by few individuals, it woudn't be fair but I am sure Jeremy woudn't do that, he is in the hobby for so long. I would also be interested to know the comments of Brian Price (ITG) of what he thinks about this issue. That's it for now!

First of all I really don't understand why Jeremy has to build a web-site with these cards that he's taking pics of. Are you kidding me!!!! He's down there on his own vacation time, spending over $7000 of his own money to take pictures of cards that he will supply the hockey hobby. Don't forget UD has a say as to what he can or cannot do with these cards. Instead of crapping on him and complaining about making sure only HI doesn't get this or to say...
"The information should be available to the whole hobby, collectors shoudn't be supposed to go on a private site to know this information posted by gomaz"
is just hilarious.
He's kept his OWN databse of all the /99 rookies from The Cup from all years and they were available to everyone via his links. I'm sure a courteous pm since he is a member here would of been the right thing to do instead of comments like...

If you did know Jeremy he'd do all he can in getting these to the general hockey hobby not just on Hi. Why don't you pitch (thru pm) him a few bucks or offer to do the database on your own free time instead of forcing the hand on him and making him look like the bad guy if this isn't offered to the whole hockey community. That just doesn't seem right.....
Now as to what sites he posts on and what sites he decides to spend his time on that's his business...who really cares!! Everyone has to start somewhere on any site and for him only posting a few times here...it's a start. I've only officially started here a few months back and it seems like a great site. Again maybe pm him and ask him to see if he's planning on posting the links here as well. NO big deal instead of making him look like an idiot if he doesn't post here. Trust me when I tell you Jeremy will do what he can to get these pics out to everybody not just HI!!!!! Why don't you offer to be the one in charge of finding all the hockey card web sites on the internet and posting on all of them if you're sooooo concerned about these pics getting out to EVERYBODY. Offer it to him as I'm sure he'll likely oblige but then again you have to be also allowed to go to other sites as well.
All in all I don't see you offering to help Jeremy anywhere on your posts on this thread but to bash him and and keep mentioning it will do this hobby no good if he doesn't get the pics out to everybody....
Be proactive and courteous and not post stuff that make the guy (who's taking his vacation time away from his family and spending his own money to get this out to everybody) look like an idiot for only posting on HI. Don't be throwing Jeremy under the bus here as he's one of the "GOOD" guys in this hobby!!!
And YES JF we all know that your cards can't be forged and it's an amazing collection of shields.......

Dean, I hear what you are saying in J's defense but I think we all need to step back and chill.
I have no doubt in my mind that Jeremy will do the right thing for the best of everyone.
Everyone is so jaded now in this hobby this year's Cup will be exciting for a month or so and then it will be ho hum for the hardcore collectors as usual waiting for next years version.
Remember folks, these are PIECES OF CARDBOARD! Holy blown turbo, everyone RELAX!

Dean, I am not sure you understand my position. First, whatever a database exist or not, it has no impact on what I collect, I talk on an hobby perspective. I do not speak for my benefits, it has zero impacts for me. It will be the FIRST time in the hobby era of game-used memorabilia cards that an individual has access to a production run. Did I complain? No. My position is about the fact that a database like that worth a LOT to identify the nicest cards produced over the whole print run. I do not speak about cash, but about it will influence collector's decisions on buying a card vs. another, and the amount people will spend on a specific card by knowing its rank over the production run known/pictured. We can know exactly how many 4-colors, 3-colors, 2-colors, etc., of Stamkos The Cup RC Patch Auto #/99 will exist, rank the cards from the nicest ones to the worst ones, and establish a total new market for these cards whatever the production run (#/99 or #/249). It was my point here, a point way more important than the "patch forgers" that may affect 0.01% of the potential situations. If "patch forgers" were a so frequent problem, you can be sure Dr. Price would have do something a long time ago, we all know about patch forgering existing for a long time, but not that frequent as it was reently exposed. Again, just my opinion. Good job done by Jeremy, nothing to complain here. I just encourage him to publish the pictures in any magazine (HI, Beckett, select the one you prefer, anyway we have access to all by a way or another), or publish online, it is the only way to help the hobby with a public pictures database. You can easily here get your money back for the time he took, his expenses, etc. People will PAY to get this important information.
