No..why would you get anew comp thats just stupid. if you upgrade it yourself it will cost like 300 dollars less..buying computers is overrated.

I've actually got 128mb...so ha! This comp was almost top of the line when I got it...in 1998/9. 500mhz Intel Pentium, 128mb RAM, 12GB hard drive...cost like $2,500.

if it's really an old machine, then updating it won't do much good and may be a complete waste of money. especially when you can get a lower end laptop from dell or best buy for 400 or 500 on sale and MOST people wont even come close to tapping the power of one of those base model systems anyway.
i'm all for upgrading when you can, but if it's truly as old as I'm guessing it is, i wouldn't waste the money.
may not hurt to find a couple new sticks of memory from crucial or somewhere and test it to see if that helps, but if not, i'd not waste any further money on it.
just my 2 cents

I know I have some 1GB sticks that came in my HP laptop I could move. I think I have 1GB desktop sticks somewhere too, I'd have to look.

I got it in 2002. And you think I can get a decent laptop that's a lot better than my current computer for only $500???
