the only other thing I can think of is they wanted to go younger maybe? He was productive and never got into any altercations. Maybe the talent pool is so big that they think Warrick can be replaced for less money. Their roster is not overloaded with Forwards that I can see.



Don't want to start an argument, but the Grizzlies' only profitable year was 2002. They've lost money every other year in Memphis. Last year they were upside down by $3 mil and they were one of the organizations to take out a loan from the league office ($20 million?). They're at risk of attendance dropping to under 12,000 fans per game next season. My Bobcats were even worse. They lost almost $5 mil last season. Maybe keeping only 10-11 players on the roster and calling up a player from the D-League during an injury for the league minimum is the way to go! (jk)

The article said that they were making this move to bring in Allen Iverson but they could've still made the move without letting Warrick go and they still would've been under the cap. I guess they're trying to save money like all the other teams in the league but $2-3 million for a guy like Warrick seems like a bargain.
