don't know if there is a thread about this already, but i wanted to talk about it. lately i've recieved several #ed cards in upperdeck products that were damaged. creases, rips, and dinged corners. i justt got an ultimate premium patch card that has several flaws, but has a great patch. card is numbered to 25 and i'm afraid to send it away for replacement. has anyone sent anything like that to ud for replacement?

I sent two damaged numbered cards back from an 07-08 Sweet Shot tin. The Roy Jersey /299, they replaced with a card with nicer swatches and the same number.

I had also sent back an Alex Tanguay auto /25 that had been smudged, and they returned it saying they had no replacements. For compensation they included 3 SPx packs. 1 had a rc no jersey, 1 had a rc w/ jersey, 1 had a rc w/ jersey and auto... it was almost like they planned it that way.

Yup, I pulled an Ultimate Debut Patch of Carey Price....that was an ALL-WHITE patch....that had a significant ding and crease on the lower right corner that was obviously a defect from UD, because it was in that shape when I carefully took it from the pack. I sent it in for a replacement and I got back a RED, WHITE & BLUE with stitching patch and there is 6 color-breaks. So, it was definitely worth it to send it back. Although, after receiving this...I did wonder how they knew I didn't tamper with the card myself just to get a better patch. Seems like anyone who is dishonest could attempt to do that.

Why, thank you ! Although...I have a sneaky suspicion that it was done out of guilt on UD's part. I'm still waiting for that 06/07 SPGU Letter Marks Wayne Gretzky that was redeemed in 2007. They say is still waiting to be autographed. I've even asked on 2 occassions for a comparable replacement and have never received a response.....I just hope this Carey Price card wasn't the replacement. :(

maybe i will send that card in, but why should i keep spending good money on ud when i routinely pull cards that are damaged? i'm very fearful of shelling out 375-400 for the cup and pull cards that are damaged.

I guess you have to decide for yourself if the flaws in your card are negligable to the average viewer....or if it's something that you just can't live with because you know it's there. I totally agree that the damaged cards coming from UD are very disheartening, espcially with the amount of money we invest. I got an Honorable Numbers card out of the 05/06 The Cup and the middle part of one of the "5's" was completely bent back to the point of almost being ripped completely off. Luckily, the card was of Ed Jovanovski and I could not care any less about him....so it didn't hurt that much. But, I did think about how I would have felt had that been a player that I did care about.

Here's a question for y'all - when sending a card to UD for replacement.. how do you package it? Do you use a top loader and bubble mailer for an already damaged card? Do you send with delivery confirmation? Let's hear some views...
