Detroit Lions - Culpepper or Stanton

Great comeback by the Lions last night....but do you think Culpepper's job is in jeopardy?

Stanton looked pretty good for a "practice team" quarterback.

...and don't jump in and talk about the #1 draft pick.....

this is a Culpepper vs Stanton thread....

which player should Detroit keep active?

stanton by far. The guy is a great quarterback they just havent given him a chance. He performs great every preseason, i wish they would let him play in a real game

I'd like to see Stanton start but Detroit is terrible in having there good players play so Culpepper will start

Culpepper brings them nothing. He has a few years left at best. He has no value in mentoring a young QB and does not single handedly give the team a chance to be a winner. They'd be better served letting Stanton prove or negate himself while bringing in a mature back up who can actually tutor Stanton and Stafford in the nuances of the game.

I'd start Culpepper from day 1 with Stafford as the number 2 and Stanton as the inactive number 3.

Stanton did some nice things, but he was playing against 3rd teamers and threw a pick right to the defender.

It was negated by a penalty but still.

I like his ability to escape from the pocket and run when he feels the rush, but his decision making isn't that great.

I wasn't that impressed by him.

I thought Culpepper looked good. He moved and played much better than in recent years. If the OL can hold up Johnson, Smith, and Culpepper could do well this season.

Stanton played pretty good last year when he got a chance to come in for a few series, but Culpepper to my understanding and from what I saw yesterday against the Falcons looks like he slimmed down quite a bit and was looking pretty good throwing the ball. Stanton has more upside and Culpepper is more of a fill-in for now.

You know I'm gonna say Stanton with the collection of mine...LOL!! He looked good but we all know he won't get a chance unless Culpepper goes down like Brady last year in the first 90 seconds of the 1st game...
