Your Teams Record Without Their Star
What do you think your favorite teams record would be if they were to be without their star player for an entire season?
For me - Boston Celtics were without Garnett for a good portion of last season, but if they were to go without him for the entire season, I think they'd still be a playoff team, but wouldn't be a major contender - probably finishing the season with about 48 wins...that number would probably be lower if Rasheed Wallace wasn't a Celtic.
And, my other team, the Minnesota Timberwolves - surprisingly, they won more games last year than they did in 07-08, and Big Al was out for half the season - but, if he was out the entire season, I think the Wolves would be lucky to win 20 games, as they really don't have any other good PF/C to take over for an entire season.

Not sure the Pistons have a surefire star. Rip Hamilton maybe? He's a former All Star so maybe that counts lol. thanx :)

Wizards and Arenas:
In 07-08 we made the playoffs without Arenas, most people said we played better without Arenas since the offense took more time to set up and such.
Last year was different since not only Arenas was gone, 4 more guys were either lost for most or all of the season.Last edited by GilbertArenas0; 08-22-2009 at 09:19 PM.

I would say David Lee is the Knicks star, and Rip Hamilton would be the Pistons star...or possibly Ben Gordon.

Yeah, we've kinda already seen the Wizards without their star, and it wasn't pretty...lol

The Lakers without Kobe, I think they'll still be a playoff team, with a 45-52 win season.

Really right, that might be.
(I don't like CP3 but) CP3 is a Genius.
If there is no CP3, Candace Parker might win NOH easily.
(Think about last Nuggets VS Hornets)

Oh wait, they added Okafor instead useless Chandler.
So NOH might win 27-29 games without CP3. =)Last edited by nbacard; 08-22-2009 at 10:47 PM.
