Personally, I try to use eBay if someone wants to buy from me, or I am buying from someone else, from there, it is about working a deal.

When trading, I use book value. Of course, from there, you have people that have different opinions on Game Used, Autos and Inserts and what is worth trading for what. A "common" game used I would have no trouble trading for an insert or lots of base.

As for the discussion on eBay value, I for instance, bought a numbered Ewing card on eBay for almost $30 last month. (serialed to 50). The other day I picked up the same card (of course different number) for $3.
