It's official: Ricky Rubio will NOT play for Timberwolves
Sucks for Minnesota I guess. Doesn't bother me though, even though I live in Minnesota, I'm still a Bucks fan.

Well, that's only for this season (and most likely next)...looks like the offense will be run by Flynn until 2011...that's fine with me, although it would be nice to have Rubio here now...but you can't always get what you want

It's the NBA's fault for not allowing the teams to give more money for buyouts. At least they have his contract rights, and he can get some more playing time in Europe.

So they drafted four point guards and only one of them will be playing with the Wolves this season. Go figure.

This was a waste of resources and a waste of a draft pick

Can you elaborate on this?
Why don't people get mad when the Knicks pick Ganillero or the Blazers picked Rudy Fernandez/Nicolas Batum.
There are many players who stay in their countries and continue their game.
Ricky Rubio is better than all those players. Plus he's only 18

They drafted 4 guards - 3 point guards (Rubio, Flynn and Lawson), and 1 shooting guard (Ellington) - their two 2nd round picks were both big men, I believe...
This was a waste of resources and a waste of a draft pick
I wouldn't say that at all...they pretty much expected this anyway...that's why they drafted 2 PGs back-to-back.

Yeah, they stacked the deck at PG, but they already traded Lawson. If they get a winner with Flynn, they can trade away the rights to Rubio. If not, they pull Rubio in '11 to play. Win-win for Minnesota in a weak draft class in my opinion.

There are reports now, according to David Kahn, that Rubio backed out of a deal...unsure what the deal was, but I'm going to see if I can find out more information about it...
