ebay CEO response to FRAUDULENT LISTINGS
As you all know I posted a thread showing (5) listings by seller **ryder** that ended last night. They were all originally purchased by the i.d. ufjumper7 and after being ALTERED with fake patches re-sold under **ryder**. I took the evidence I had and filed mutiple claims on the lsitings and seller. I even wrote the CEO of ebay/paypal last night. Well, after a very short investigation I got this response from the Office of the CEO (as I'm sure John Donohoe (CEO) never saw my letter in the first place).
Hello Patrick,
Thank you for contacting John Donahoe with your concern. My name is
Kristine with eBay's Office of the President and John has asked that I
contact you on his behalf.
eBay is extremely concerned about fraud on our site, whether it is
fraudulent buyers or fraudulent sellers, and we review every report that
we receive. We received your previous emails regarding these members and
we have reviewed them thoroughly and I have also reviewed these accounts
once again based on the information provided in your report.
Unfortunately, we do not show any evidence of fraud or shill bidding in
this particular situation. If you have received fake or altered items
please be sure that you are reporting these through the PayPal
Significantly Not as Described process so that we can do an
investigation and possible reimbursement. We do not review listings on
our site for validity because we are not experts in every area, but when
we receive reports through the claims system we are able to take
appropriate action.
Kind Regards,
Kristine
Office of the President
eBay, Inc.
Basically they have reemphasized that it is LEGAL to sell ALTERED/FAKE cards with FRAUDULENT LISTINGS by taking NO ACTION on this matter or any in the past. I wrote a response to their letter and if I hear anything more I will share it with you.

WOW, with all the evidence I read yesterday that you posted I can't believe that they'd say no fraudulent activity has taken place here.....
I hope they respond back to you so we can see what they say. What did you say to them about this?

But make sure you include something in your auction so they dont take down your item... Like give away a bunch of base cards with EBAY IS A JOKE written across them.

you are joking right?
did you really think eBay would tell you that they investigated the allegations and the matter has been turned over to the police?

I presented the same evidence I shared on this board. Facts are facts. At the very least I said you might not be able to link the i.d.s right away but with the original listing and the listing after the same card was tampered with i thought it would raise enough suspicion to look into it further. But the response tells me it is a closed case
My response to the CEO today was basically that its sad the profits of the company are more important than the protection of your buyers and that by taking no action you have made FRAUDULENT LISTINGS legal. I also told them I will now forward all of my evidence to the card manufacturers so they can investigate the matter properly. in their response I was told to go thru the process and in today's response I told them that as a victim (yes-I was a victim of the ufjumper7/thanh577 combo before thanh577 got exposed so he now uses the ufjumper7/**ryder** combo to sell) myself I have already done that with no success.
Its just very frustrating and if I didn't think I would have jeopardized my ebay membership I would have bid on all (5) listings last night and then refused to pay upon presenting my evidence of the original listings.
