Met this guy at work one day and we started talking football and stuff, told him I was a Bronco fan and all. One day he brought in a few cards for me to check out, some with jersey pieces and autographs and I was amazed. I can't exactly remember how I got here but I think it was by searching for cards through Google.
I used to collect when I was young, but things were way different .... and way less expensive!!

I found SCF while searching google for some sport card info over 2 years ago...found this site, along with a few others that I never joined, and was just browsing the boards and the archives for a month or 2 before I finally joined up, because I hadn't found the info I was looking for...I still remember my first post too...it was looking for info on a set of basketball cards, that I posted in Basketball Card Talk, and Khendra (JammingJames23) was the first person to reply to my thread...I sometimes look back and wonder if I would've stuck around if she wasn't as helpful and courteous as she was. Anyway, I joined because I was looking for information on some cards I had recently acquired.
If it wasn't for SCF, I know for a fact that I wouldn't have anywhere close to all the cards I do now, and my Garnett PC would most certainly not be inching close to 800 different cards! So, thanks to all the wonderful members of this wonderful board!

almost 3 years ago on christmas, my oldest son got a box of football cards and loved them...but he didn't get a reggie bush rookie, so we had to buy another box
a couple months later, i looked in the phone book to see if there was any card dealers so he could just pick the cards he wanted...and found a great dealer about 40 minutes away.
my son decided he wanted to collect steelers & certain other players he liked, while i got interested again and decided i liked topps since that's pretty much all there was when i was a kid.
the card dealer is great, but it's a far drive, and he only has his cards sorted by players (great for my son), and not by brand (not good for me)
one day (whatever day i joined here) i remembered there was a holliday inn that threw a card show once a week where i grew up, and you could trade cards and buy commons and such to finish sets...and since i never heard of any shows where i live now, i figured there must be something online where you can trade
i think i typed "card trading" into google and SCF was like the 2nd or 3rd option...the first two looked cluttered and amateurish, so this was the site i chose
i dont even trade that often on here, but i like coming here just to chat, or talk trash to the guys in the SCF fantasy football league

I joined early in 2005 when I found the boards on Google. I came back to the hobby in 2004 after a two year hiatus and was just starting to build my collection back up again, so I was looking to make some trades. I haven't looked back since!
