    i just looked it up and here is what it says

    Free when the money comes from PayPal balance or bank account.

    2.9% + $0.30 USD

    when the money comes from a debit or credit card or PayPal Credit
    (the sender decides who pays this fee).

    So looks like if you use debit or credit (which i always do) you still get the fee... you just save it if paying with paypal balance

    Gift Payments you don't have to pay any fees.
    The sender has no protection what so ever. So pretty much if you send him the money, its his and if he doesn't want to send you what you bought. there is nothing you can do about it.

    Looks like you got your answer Woody, because you pay on your credit card is why your getting fees shown...that would explain it!
