As for the thread topic, yup a goal was lucky but it's a long season, eveyone gets lucky and unlucky bounces throughout it all, we were just lucky last night. I'm glad we won though, this was needed to settle everyone down after the Markov "tragedy"...

Holy was it ever crazy. I don't plan on commenting on Markov until Feb. By then there will be a better grip on the entire situation.

It's crazy how much of an effect this fast start is already having on Carey's cards & memorabilia. My days of super-steals are over, methinks. Example: a signed All-Star Game puck I bought a month ago on the Bay was won in an auction for $17 free shipping. There's a puck signed & dated to his first shutout that's up to $36 plus $10 for shipping. YGs are spiking, and people are getting into bididng wars again.

Ah well, such is the "price" of success.

1. - Your first goal shouldn't even have counted, pure goaltender interference

2. - You can't a much luckier bounce than that. The only thing great about that play was Gionta's hand eye coordination, everything else, pure luck.

3. - I will give credit to Carey Price (even though I hate him and still think he's ridiculously overrated) that he played a great game, and basically won that game for the Habs

I can't believe how much we struggled to score against a half-dead Montreal team.

Unfortunately for Buffalo, Carey Price made up for 48% of the team that was asleep.

That was a sweet goal Gionta, lucky bounce or not it was a fantastic play, and Miller had apparently gone to sleep, not reacting to the initial shot nor guarding his post as the puck went behind the net.

But it still stands to reason that they never even should have been in OT, since the goal by Moen should have been ruled no goal by goaltender interference. The little push by Sekera wasn't even close enough to qualify as "forced into the goaltender."

Very disappointed in our offense. They took that one early goal as permission to simply stop playing for the rest of the game.

Hard to lay any blame on Miller. He was playing the initial shot which deflected off a Sabres hip then the back of the boards, and then an outstanding athletic hand eye co-ordination by Gionta.

Yeah you really can't blame Miller at all.

As a goalie you aren't expected to be hugging your post in the 0.1 seconds it took the puck to bounce off those boards, no goalie could every react that fast to get into good position. It was a fluke goal, period. The only good thing about that was Gionta's great heads up awareness and hand-eye coordination
