Ok this is a real problem...

Saw this on Ebay and this should be illegal at least in my opinion, I have seen more and more fake patch cards being exposed on Ebay and trade sites and just feel it really ruins the hobby because you don't really know if something is fake or real.

why doesn't it? if someone buys it, one has to assume they've read...auction states custom made

I found a bunch of stuff like this on ebay last year and I posed the exact same question. Im not really sure how to feel about it. Part of me thinks it is ok because the seller clearly states it is fake but the other part of me thinks it is not cool because you never know what the knuckle head who bought it plans to do with it.

Exactly my point, I guess I could make a bunch of auto reprints and say custom made autos and number 1/1 heck maybe I could make some money off them.....

There's nothing wrong with it. It clearly states its a custom card. Same thing if you go on ebay and look at the custom McFarlane sports figures. Same thing.

Ok I get your point as I stated it was my opinion, not looking to cause an issue.

Valid points on both sides. I have to agree with raw5060. On one hand, the guy is being honest in his eBay auction. On the other hand, the person who bought it might not be as honest as the original seller.

It's kind of similar to customized SLU's from the 90's. As long as people aren't going to scam other people, it's not that big of a deal. However, if someone trades me one of these cards and I'm DUMB enough to fall for it... I'm going to be PO'd. :-)

The only problem is what you stated...the guy who buys it might try to pawn it off as real at a later auction.
