Okay, after seeing that replay...
My opinion is that the 3rd base ump was trying to even out the call at 2nd. It did not seem to me that he could have possibly seen Swisher's foot on that play.
Although I can't argue that he should have even been on the basepaths, I don't think I agree with the idea of make-up calls. Bad calls even themselves out in the end, Umps taking it upon themselves to use another wrong to make a right doesn't seem like a good idea.
