I'd be interested to see how PayPal would rule on something like this since technically he is combining the shipping costs. It seems pretty much any sort of combined shipping could be considered over the top unless people have a cap on how high they will let shipping go.
I just weighed it out and I could ship 11 normal cards in toploaders in a bubble mailer for around $2.50 with DC. Even if I charge $2 to ship and then .50 for each extra card its still $7. I sort of feel you should just accept that you are paying less than if you bought them from different sellers and just ask how much combined shipping is from now on.

Shipping is part of the cost. You're not only buying the card(s), but you're also buying the service (shipping). Its a part of doing business.

Ok well heres the thing, your saying that he should only charge the exact amount its gonna cost him in postage. Your not including any handling charges and have completely ignored everyone on this. handling is driving them to the post office, packing them, printing the labels.
And just like you said its not your fault he doesn't live next to the po, well he could be the exact same way, he could just ship it to any random part of your state, its not his fault your city isn;t anywhere near where he sent it. So yah thats the dumbest reasoning/excuse i've ever heard.
He reduced shipping by half and while it seems excessive to you, your not thinking about all the costs not thought of in shipping items. Time, paper/labels, ink, tape, team bags, penny sleeves, top loaders/cases, common sense. I mean sure if you just want your cards tossed into a mailer with no protection and shipped for as cheap as possible im sure he could arrange that, but me i'd rather pay the extra and know that my cards are gonna come protected.

Rule of thumb - always e-mail the seller and ask them what kind of s/h discounts they offer if you plan on buying multiple cards from them. Works every time.
Hidden Content - use the drop down box at the top left to view all my other albums
Brian Orakpo/Sean Taylor/Craig Kimbrel Super Collector - I collect Lucky 13 Football RCs (04-07 all versions). Also like current Braves (Acuna/Albies/Dansby/Soroka/Strider/Riley/Harris/Fried, etc.), Mike Trout, Juan Soto, Roger Federer.

Plain and simple......You bid knowing there was a discount in shipping. If you were concerned about what the charges were then you should have contacted the seller BEFORE you bid and won the auctions.
To complain about the shipping after it was combined is not the sellers fault in this case

Take the strike, and ask about the discount next time unless the seller is willing to work w/ you. Seller's description of the discount was pretty open so they had to expect this would eventually happen.

Why isn't it the sellers responsibility to describe their shipping discount in the listing. General descriptions lead to situations like this.

not much more but sometimes not worth the hassle for the minimal amount extra
